Why the question comes first
How an investor is categorised changes what may lawfully be put in front of them. Asking once, here, is the honest version of that rule — and it means you read the figures knowing they are before fees, rather than finding out on a statement.
Nothing here is stored beyond a cookie that remembers your answer for thirty days. Applying is a separate step and is not required to read the record.
